With the sad passing of Cllr Rob Smith, RCT Conservatives are delighted to announce that Maesycoed resident Alexander Francis Davies has been selected to contest the vacant seat in July's by-election.

Born and brought up in the ward, Alexander will make an excellent councillor, should he be elected, and RCT Conservatives are looking forward to 'throwing the kitchen sink' at the election.

Commenting on his selection, Alexander said, "To serve the ward that I am proud to call my home, would be a true honour and allow me to give back to the community that gave me a wonderful childhood. Pontypridd should be a town of opportunity, prosperity and significance."
