Last night, RCT Conservatives paid host to Sir Desmond Swayne, Member of Parliament for New Forest West – an event that was given special significance as Sir Desmond had contested the Pontypridd parliamentary seat back in 1987!
A lot has changed since Sir Desmond was involved and local members were keen to highlight the excellent progress the new Federation was making and the recent successes it had achieved.
Commenting on the night, Cllr Sam Trask, Chairman of RCT Conservatives, said, “It was an excellent evening and we were delighted to welcome Sir Desmond back to the constituency. He achieved a pretty impressive election result for the constituency back then, and we’re really proud that he was able to move on and eventually get elected for Parliament. RCT has a great record of fielding top quality candidates who then progress onto Parliament and even into government.”
RCT Conservatives would like to put on record their thanks to Sir Desmond Swayne for revisiting and if you would like further information of upcoming events, contact: [email protected]
